No idea why this happens but here's the error line from the log. I'd assume it has something to do with hamachi.

I'm not the one hosting the server, my friend is and he's using a windows machine.
I would use mono to try and host it myself, but I have no idea how it works.

Where might I find the client log?

In [KSP ROOT]\KSP.log. Upload it to Hastebin or similar.
