A few suggestions: Have some triggers that initiate thawing of at least one Kerbal, like change of SoI or a set timer. Maybe some form of kOS integration, so no RT connection is required? I definitly like the RT integration.

Trying to figure out how to leverage Kerbal Alarm Clock for the automatic triggers as this would make more sense than re-inventing the wheel. Awaiting a PM response from TriggerAu.

Development of KAC integration is about 90% complete. In testing phase.
