Hi

Having trouble with the magnet when in EVA my kerbal can select a magnet from the inventory but can't attach it to anything, it will always be in red, or says can't be attached to this item.

Im using the G key to grab it, H key to place using the drill.

I thought maybe it needs a node to attach to, but still didn't work.

I noticed a youtube video showed a user pressing the X key , but I have yet to try this.

Any suggestions or is this a know bug ? I will extensively test and try new things over the coming days to see if I can rectify it.

Thank you for the fast reply, yes I have tried all tools to surface attach the following

HE-03 Electro magnet - tested with all tools , screw driver, drill, wrench
HG-02 Grappling hook - tested with all tools
HP-01 Harpoon - tested with all tools

I can attach the to a winch but not any other object, I tested several other parts and I am able to attach them to anything, but none of the above parts will surface attach so I can lift or move them.

I even tried attaching the above parts in the VAB then tried to remove them once on the launch pad and says I cant remove the part. Please see attached photos.

All photos were taken using F1 in kerbal space program so I hope you can view them in the png format.

Have you equipped the screwdriver? You need to in order to do the surface attaches, the wrench won't help.

Okay. Let me clarify myself. You need to use the E-SD80 Electric Screwdriver. I cannot say anything for the tools, which are supplied by the third-party mods. The wrench and the electrical screwdriver are the KIS stock tools.
