I updated to the lastest 2.8... My config is gone...

Wait wait, there are 2 FOLDERS?

One: AutoRank = all the main files
Two: Autorank = just Data

?

The one has multiple files in it. You can remove the old one.

DUDE, EMERGENCY: I updated, but ALL MY PLAYER DATA IS REMOVED, WHEN I TRY
AND COPY PASTE THE OLD DATA, IT WILL JUST BE REPLACED, THIS IS SERIOUS

Relax. Stop tour server. Replace the data.yml and restart the server. Tada!

Hm, you see, I didn't stop it, but while it was running I replaced it and
then restarted, difference?

Yes, when you replace it when it is 'hot' (meaning running) and then restart, it saves and overrides the other file you just replaced. When you start it up after you replaced it, it loads the new file in place. That's how must plugins work, so it is handy to know if you ever need to replace something.
