maybe make it so you can change the color of the beacon (colored waypoints) without the need of a glass block on the beacon
or
make it so you can place a glass block on top of the beacon making a colored beam and still be able to travel between waypoints (maybe a glass pane so you can still have access to the beacon for waypointing) but if there is a air gap, then dont allow it to work.
