Unless you turn on "pedantic-block-checks" in the CB config, breaking an essentials trade sign will net you double the amount of items/cash/xp in the sign.

This does not happen in the stable CB builds.

I can't reproduce this issue, what features of craftbook do you hace enabled? I have everything but snow enabled, do you have snow enabled?

That could be helpful. By any chance, do you have a custom drop that changes what signs drop?
