CRAFTBOOK-2968 - Reported by thief_a
so far i used the bukkit plugin
http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/autominecart/
to spawn minecarts out from nowhere. it "creates" a new minecart by klicking on the track, and removes it complettly from the game when left.
unfortunatlly this plugin has some drawbacks, an the author seems to be ignoring it ( cant place any type of cart anymore, allways directly get into a minecart, clicking accidently on the track when building track gets you in a minecart, not beeing compatible with traincarts, and allot other cart managment plugins)
craftbook meanwhile has a similar functionallity, but one does have to have a minecart all the time in the inventory, so i wonder if it would be possible to add an option, that makes craftbook act like autominecart.
execpt not placing one in a minecart when placing tracks or other types of carts.

If you use the chest stocker IC, you can use the minecart dispenser infinitely as the carts are constantly restocked endlessly.

hi,
yes, but this would only be usable in stations not anywhere on the track.
if you leave the cart in the middle of a (long) track, becaus theres something interesting, your lost. unless you activate the option to put the cart back into the inv, but then one forgets that he might allready have on and you end up having the inv full of carts. we almost filed up a entire largechest that way, when we tried with craftbooks features only.
a good way to spoof the railroad with usless minecarts actually..
thats why we love that autocart plugin actually pretty mutch, and live with the drawbacks..
no need to "waste" an inv slot, and the ability to have a cart everywhere waiting for one.

I don't think I correctly understand what you want.
So you want it that people can spawn in minecarts by right clicking, rather than using a cart dispenser mechanic?
Comment by thief_a
yep, thats pretty mutch it..
beeing able to use it everywhere, but without getting the minecart back when exiting. so i dont need to have a cart with me, but i also dont get one when exiting.
craftbook allready gives the option to place the cart back to inventory, so i thought it might be a "small" change to add that feature.
and also beeing able to place other carts without just getting in a cart myself, witch is the major fail of autocarts....

So I am working on this now.
When you say 'place other carts without getting in a cart', is that part of this feature? As I don't see how it would work.

I've added this in the latest build. Try testing it and see if it's what you meant.

woops, that was quick ^^
will test asap, just need to figure out how to compile.
to clarifiy what i meant with the carts statment:
in the autocart plugin you get placed in a minecart no matter if you had a chestcart, tntcart, nameitcart in hands to place on track, asap you clicked on the track you just ended in a minecart. no way of placing any other cart normaly.
so getting in a minecart shouldnt be possible when wanting to place any other carttyp, or laying down tracks.
sidenote:
the autocarts minecarts also didnt work thogether with traincarts, i guess because autocarts used special carts for cartremoving on exiting the cart.
hope you can ommit this, as traincarts has some nice cart features.

You don't need to compile, dev builds are available here: http://builds.enginehub.org/job/craftbook/

So it's correct to what you described?
And you're welcome :)
