When i am making an item its just very laggy do you know any fixes

Not really: I don't have a Mac, so I never got the chance to test it myself. This is quite weird since the Editor is supposed to only have 3 slow actions (when you have a lot of items):

• Saving
• Exporting
• Loading

Everything else is always very fast on every computer I ever tried.

Could you elaborate which part of the item creation menu is slow? (For instance, are the buttons slow?)

Also, can you check whether anything on your PC has a high CPU usage while the Editor is slow? (I don't have a Mac, so I don't know how to check such things.)
