I have a annoying problem which i cant seem to work out, i edited the message.properties and message_en.properties files within the plugin to make the text more interesting and unique. (Modifying colours and the odd word). But when i come to launch the server and essentials loads, but the commands stop working or it shows no text at all.
Some help or instructions on what to do here would be appreciated.

Don't edit the files inside the jar. You can download up-to-date language files from the repo, and you can then place them in plugins/Essentials/ and edit them from there.

How do i know what properties file to edit? @md678685

If your server is in English, edit messages_en.properties. Otherwise use the one for your language.
