Essentials.sign.color can be skipped using physical dyes since 1.13 or 1.14
So this node is partly pointless by now.
I was just wondering if there will be ever an option to disable dying-using-real-dyes or not, so this permission will be useful again for donator ranks as a Cosmetic perk

This isn't entirely true. essentials.sign.color allows you to change the colour of individual characters/lines on the sign, while dyes only allow you to change the colour of the entire sign.

We could add a toggle to Protect to disable sign dyeing. This is quite a minor addition though, so it's not high on our priorities.

We were having this same issue in our server, I just release a simple plugin to fix this on spigot.
