Quite possibly. Though I'm confused about the legal status of Spigot, how did they get around the whole DMCA thing?
Hm... you can't download Spigot.jar, but you can download BuldTools.jar from Spigot website. BuildTools downloads GitHub repositories and compiles all files on your machine.

One thing you can do to get an island-generated world in 1.8 is to either downgrade your current server to 1.7, generate the world (using worldborder) and then upgrade to 1.8
If you already have players etc. on your server, you may want to avoid downgrading (as signs and chests in generated chunks will be messed up). If this is the case, perhaps if you have a testing server, generate the world on it and then move the world file over.
I am currently running my Islandcraft world in 1.8, hoping for an update soon however, as there is always the fear, what if something goes wrong and I need to regenerate a chunk or whatever.
I going to create "Adult" type server. "Adult" must be stable and not bugged, so i can't use your proposition. I'm still waiting for update :)
Really hoping for an update soon, wanting to expand my world do 15Ks but I can't without the generator working :S
1000 years later.. ;P
It's uploaded, just awaiting approval now... Should be able to download it from here in the next couple days: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/islandcraft/files/
Really sorry about the wait! Hard to get into the mood for programming at home when I spend all day doing it at work. Let me know if you have any issues getting it going.
Grab it while it's hot!
