Bug Description

In a world (downloaded from a realm) compasses and clocks act like its the nether. They work normal in the original world. /mvlist lists both worlds as normal.

Steps to reproduce

Added a second world file downloaded from an existing realm. Clocks and compasses behave as if their in the nether.

Agreements

  • I have searched for and ensured there isn't already an open or resolved issue(s) regarding this.
  • I was able to reproduce my issue on a freshly setup and up-to-date server with the latest version of Multiverse plugins with no other plugins and with no kinds of other server or client mods.
commented

Yeah I started getting this bug too when I updated to 1.21.4. I'm glad it's not just me lol

commented

I also have this issue. in my creative world, compass and clock spin randomly as if in the nether. my survival world works fine.

commented

Hi, can you give more details of what you mean by "behaviour like nether". Also send the link generated by the /mv version -p command

The behavior is in world_1, the compass and clock just spin erratically, as if your in the nether.

I have since added two other worlds, same thing occurs in them as well.

Thank you.

sorry, what is MV5? built from master? can you link the jars for me to check?

commented

Testing in MV5, I cannot reproduce this issue

commented

Jars are in the Discord server in #mv5 or from #2824

commented

Which versions of portals, netherportals, inventory do I need to use with that

commented

The versions in the discord messages, they are only ever released all at once for these dev builds

commented

Reproducible on mv5 12

Please reopen

Further, gamemode creative has no effect, it's always survival

commented

Please reopen

I have reopened this now. Could you please re-create this on a fresh server as following your previous instructions I could not reproduce.

Are you opped? If not then send this on Discord preferably as it’s MV5, or make a new GitHub issue

I updated my my MV4 and paper jars and the issue still persists

I am reluctant to reproduce it on a fresh server as the whole reason I am using it is to use my existing worlds simultaneously

commented

If that is the case then I cannot work on this issue. I need reproduction instructions to be able to fix it

This is what I have. New server, version info below, not sure why thats all it gave me. Anyway, only running paper-1.21.4-121 and multiverse-core-pr2824.jar. I generated a 2nd world using mv, I TP to it using mvtp, compass does the same thing, just spins erratically, does not point to spawn. It works as it should in orignal world. Let me know if you need something else.

Hello! I also have this problem on my survival server since I updated it from 1.21.3 to 1.21.4 version.
I'm using the latest version of Paper: 1.21.4-138.

My plugins :

  • LuckPerms-Bukkit-5.4.153
  • Multiverse-Core-4.3.14
  • Multiverse-Inventories-4.2.6
  • Multiverse-NetherPortals-4.2.3
  • Multiverse-Portals-4.2.3

The phenomenon occurs in a normal-type world generated with the Multiverse commands.

This is a vanilla Minecraft bug in 1.21.4! #274635 and the best way to fix it is with a resource pack.

really? dude i cannot open this site rn. this bug have bothered me for a long time. will it be fixed in 1.21.5?

commented

I found the short description for the upstream bug to be "Compass won't update when replaced with spinning compass in the same slot"

commented

Here is a texturepack repo that fixes the compass issue: https://github.com/ShaneBeee/CompassClockFix

I shall reiterate it’s a vanilla client bug and not a Multiverse issue.

commented

Thank you! The texture pack works perfectly. I appreciate the fix and the clarification about the vanilla client bug.
