Hey there, I was wondering if you're currently working on adding support for the 1.16 hex color codes. If not, I'd be willing to try and make a PR that adds support for them.

I've done a lot of looking into this. It doesn't seem to be possible currently. Team colors only support the predefined Minecraft colors enum, and I haven't been able to reliably modify a player's name with a hex tag, see this post.
