❗ Checklist

  • I am using the official english version of Slimefun and did not modify the jar.
  • I am using an up to date "DEV" (not "RC") version of Slimefun.
  • I am aware that issues related to Slimefun addons need to be reported on their bug trackers and not here.
  • I searched for similar open issues and could not find an existing bug report on this.

📍 Description

Below y=0, the ancient altar when right clicked did not give error messages. I setup the pedastals to craft a blank rune, and when hitting the altar with the catalyst, nothing happened. no messages, no errors in the console. a few attempts later it did process the obsidian to give me a rune. Sidelo also had similar experiences. here's a link to his video

📑 Reproduction Steps

Build the ancient altar with pedastals below y=0
place the stone and magic lump 1's for the blank rune
right click the altar with the obsidian
nothing happened

💡 Expected Behavior

i expected the altar to craft the rune. does the altar do a y level check?

I've pinged them on the discord to provide any further information possible

I personally don't know how to reproduce this issue so far only 2 players reported me about this issue in 2 different places what happens is somehow the block where ancient altar is becomes glitched and right-clicking ancient altar doesn't do anything at all it can be any Y level, when I asked the player what happened there they just told me they were repeatedly crafting Earth Runes until it becomes unusable. I can show you those place in server. here's some recording if needed:

cannot reproduce on Slimefun DEV 994, Paper-140 1.18.1
can you use the debug fish on the pedestals and altar, and the exact coordinates of the altar?

commented

I've tried a dozen more times to recreate it and so far cannot. however Sidelo did repeatedly. we may want to reach out to them and see if there's something they are doing differently. I had it happen twice, but can no longer cause it.

commented

@variananora idk if you saw it in the discord, but I found out that it only breaks in the towny home chunk

commented

I don't wanna pay 20 bucks to find out tho

commented

i did test on Royale's towny server in my town home chunk, and it worked, but it was in 1.17 above y=0. I was not able to test below y=0 in towny

commented

Perhaps mcmmo-Towny is causing it? Or TownyResources?

commented

it's very strange issue and cannot be reproduced easily.

Can you send us a screenshot or a vid showing you placing the block and checking it with /sf debug_fish? Also enabling coordinates would be a great information.

commented

Another thing that I forgot to ask, are you using any protection plugins? Also can you drop your /plugins too?

commented

Yes towny and worldguard

commented

Thank you! I will double check it with Towny and WorldGuard too.

I went back, and it seems fixed now. Without moving the altar, or doing anything else.

Closing this for now, I can't seems to replicate it consistantly with and without any Protection Plugins.

i did test on Royale's towny server in my town home chunk, and it worked, but it was in 1.17 above y=0. I was not able to test below y=0 in towny

The video that SideLo sent also occured in positive Y values.

@variananora idk if you saw it in the discord, but I found out that it only breaks in the towny home chunk

I did, I just can't replicate it when looking at that, that is why I'm asking for further details.

Perhaps mcmmo-Towny is causing it? Or TownyResources?

Not sure, but I can't test that.

it's very strange issue and cannot be reproduced easily.

It is. If you found a way to replicate it more consistently and with less variable feel free to reopen this issue or make a new one.
