giant deserts and island in islands.

so, ive been trying to create as somewhat realistic generator since im tired of seeing taigas next to deserts.

so far ive made 7 biomes, Plains, Savanna, Desert, Forest, Rainforest, icePlains, Taiga.
and i have been trying to wire them up like this: PLAINS--> SAVANNA-->DESERT. and the same with iceplains/taiga and forest/rainforest.

so i made PLAINS the only "normal" biome, and i made the first tier biomes(savanna/forest/iceplains) islands in the plains biome, and then i made the second tier biomes (desert/taiga/rainforest) islands in the first tier biomes. i hope this makes sense :P and i belive it should work, but it doesnt. i managed to get the taigas stay inside the iceplains, but the problem is my deserts is ENORMOUS!, and i cant find any savannas around them.
i have set the deserts the same size as taigas and rainforests, but ewerytime i generate a world i see no traces of forests, plains, or rainforests, i only find (sometimes) the taigas inside the iceplains, with a GIANT DESERT RIGHT NEXT TO THEM. im really frustrated and i could use some help.... what should i do to make my plan work? im sorry my english isnt the best...

i was hoping it would look like this:

TAIGA <-- ICEPLAINS <-- PLAINS --> SAVANNA --> DESERT

kinda but with the forests and rainforests too, so i shouldnt get any deserts right next to the taigas, but instead make it level out smoothly and become colder and colder. what i get instead is:

DESERT <-- ICEPLAINS <-- TAIGA --> ICEPLAINS ---> DESERT
