So today I got GeoIP besides Essentials and set up the Join message with that. Not to double spam the join message by GeoIP and Bukkit/Vanilla I wanted to disable the Bukkit/Vanilla join message with VanishNoPacket with the permission "vanish.joinwithoutannounce" after adding that to my group it also disabled my Quit messages and I couldn't find any way to enable Quit messages but still keep Join messages disabled.

Can you please fix this?

joinwithoutannounce only has an effect on joining. Could you paste your permissions config.

I don't see what it's doing that'd enable silent quit. But, I rarely understand what happens when plugins use a fake * node, so I can't really help much.

Enable permtest in the VNP config, 'vanish reload' in console, join the game and type /permtest vanish.silentquit

I see VNP 3.10 has some fix against GeoIP? Well I am using Essentials GeoIP. Maybe that is affecting this?

Also tested the "vanish.joinwithoutannounce" permission again with the new version. And still it blocks the join message but also the quit message.

You try it! Make a clean CraftBukkit server and try to hide join message but keep quit message.

Yes, there are no errors what so ever. It just seems that joinwithoutannounce also blocks quit message.

Have you managed to get it working the way I would like? You can have a look over TeamViewer if you want.

Oh, sorry, I was a bit... tired while chatting before.

VNP tracks your 'online/offline' status within VNP and handles the quit message corresponding to your latest status. If you sign in without announce, you are considered 'offline'. If you stay like that, never faking a join, you will thus not have a quit message.

If you're looking to use a plugin just for hiding join/quit messages, this isn't exactly that plugin ^_^

Or name a good plugin for that.

I'm not familiar with plugins that only block join not quit messages.
