Improvement Suggestion:

It would be nice and possibly allow free translations and solve at least one other ticket about obscured messages due to double negatives, if we could customize all messages from VNP.

This same approach is being used now by many other plugins, the simplest of them using a messages.yml or .txt containing all messages as variables.

Closing 4.0 issues, I'd rather not have scattered planning for the future which may or may not come to pass
