Booksplit
Version 1.17: Use Booksplit 1.1.1
Version 1.16 and 1.15: Use Booksplit 1.0.1
Summary
If you have an enchanted book that contains multiple enchantments, then you can use a ritual to separate it into multiple books with a single enchant each.
Ritual Structure
A 5x5 structure around an enchanting table. Any blocks not specified in the structure can be anything.
Ground layer: a 3x3 layer of lapis lazuli blocks underneath the enchanting table.
First layer: enchantment table in the center, then four specific blocks around it; snow block, green terracotta, magma block, yellow wool. Some blocks may be omitted, details below.
Second layer: four bookshelves on top of the four blocks surrounding the enchantment table, and item frames placed onto the sides facing the table. Glow item frames can be used instead of normal item frames, and they provide a 50% experience cost discount.

Experience Cost
Each book costs 2 experience levels. If the book is held in a glow item frame, then it costs 1 experience level instead.
Usage
Procedure
1. Obtain an enchanted book that contains at least two enchantments.
2. Place a book on each item frame, one for every enchantment you want to keep from the enchanted book.
3. Acquire the necessary experience before continuing or else enchantments will be lost.
4. Drop the enchanted book on top of the enchantment table.
5. A sound will play, the book will be consumed, the required experience will be consumed, and the books on the item frames will convert to enchanted books.
Choosing which enchantments to keep
* The "four specific blocks" that surround the enchantment table on the first layer represent the four elements: water, earth, fire, and air; each represented by the snow block, green terracotta, magma block, and yellow wool blocks, respectively.
* Each item frame is associated with the element that the block underneath the bookshelf it is on represents.
* The one with the snow block underneath will receive the book's first enchantment, the one with the green terracotta receives the book's second enchantment, the magma block the third, and the yellow wool the fourth.
* It is possible to omit a book from an item frame, and the enchantment that would have gone to it will be discarded instead. It is also possible to omit placing down one of the element blocks and the bookshelf on top of it, and the associated enchantment will also be discarded. Any element can be omitted.
Example of a valid ritual with a missing fire element:
In this example, the third enchantment on a book will be discarded.
Notes
The anvil's "prior work penalty" on the resultant books will be equal to the original book's.
