Gamma correction (?) makes emissive entities blown out

I'm not sure if this is necessarily a bug, but emissive entities get overly bright in dark areas (blocks/particles look fine to me). Is there a way to make this effect more like vanilla's, where emissive entities "ignore" darkness, instead of being all glowy?
Here's some night/day examples:
I've used this shader with Forge/Embeddium/Oculus and Fabric/Sodium/Iris and it looks the same. I can provide other info if you need it.
