Every new block that comes into view under the crosshair resets your shield and food as you try to eat it, this issue was not present in 1.18.2's version. (specifically noted with an axe, becomes an issue when pvp'ing). Shield reset shown here. Also just a feature request but a keybind to enable/disable the mod would be useful as well

Yeah, I see the issue. Also there is a keybind to toggle the mod you just have to bind it to something in the 'Key Binds...' menu.
