When having a drill in the off-hand (was trying to see if it worked so I could use a T1 potion ring in the main >>), the augments contained in the drill vanish when shift right-clicking. The augments return when used in the main hand. The augments aren't present in the drill at all; even clicking in the places where augments were in the main hand gives no item, so it's not purely visual.
