With the Aether 1 now getting Fabric support, and the last issue being last opened 2 (coming up on 3!) years ago, I would like to see this either reconsidered, or a new updated bug report to be closed.

Over the past 2 years, strides have been made in the Fabric ecosystem (such as portinglib, and even the API itself) and many mods have gone multiloader (via architectury sometimes,) the modding landscape has changed from Fabric being delegated as the optimizer only loader, to even big mods like Create (came in May 2022) getting direct Fabric ports.

The last time there was a bug report was before these solutions either didn't exist or was too early to consider. (#165)

Fabric is something we can consider further down the line but not this early into the current development stage.
