Quick description

I start farming and analyze seeds and craft cropsticks, then i tried to place cropsticks on vanilla farmland, and they just dont place. The item in hand doesnt have an animation to it either.

I found another closed issue topic about this, and they deleted the json folder in the Agricraft config and it worked for them, i attempted the same thing with no success.

Steps to replicate the issue

1. Try to place cropsticks on farmland

I'd say that Mystical Agriculture/Agradditions is the problem. Try removing those and see if you can place cropsticks. If removing those mods fixes it, its a bug on their end and you should open an issue on their Github if they have one.

I removed both of those, and tested it. No dice. Cropsticks still arent placeable. Help :(

The testing environment contains MysticalAgriculture, so i'm pretty sure its not that. You could have a mod that is intercepting right clicks on farmland. Can you place crop sticks on say, gravel?

ok, i just tried gravel/sand (i had already tested dirt, grass, dry farmland, wet farmland) and same thing. I have no clue. Let me know if theres anything else you want me to try specifically. thanks for the help.

yeah, its a real mystery. Im sad too because i really really love this mod, and ive waited a long time for it to be updated to real current versions. i played real old versions of modpacks that had it. again, if you have any suggestions or want me to do any type of experimenting that practical, let me know.

I am having the same problem, I've tried the json fix and it didn't work. I've even tried deleting every other mod (besides infinitylib because it needs it) to no effect. It must be a problem with Agricraft itself or somehow infinitylib? I'm no programmer so I have no idea.

well shit.... i might try using a slightly different version of the mod instead of the one im using now.

EDIT: Ive tried the different versions/releases i was able to find for 1.12.2, and none of them work. I just want to use this mod :/

I can confirm this issue on FTB Revelations 1.8.0 with the following added mods:

Agricraft
infinitylib
Nutrition
Psi
PlusTIC

Running on macOS 10.13.4.

I can also confirm that deleting the default jsons does not fix this issue.

Hey, thank you for contributing to the thread. This proves that there is some sort of weird issue afflicting more people than just me. Thank you for the logs and stuff you attached, im not sure how to do those and what to use, that helps a lot.

Note: I just noticed there was a new version of Agricraft released two days ago, but the issue still persists with that version.

hmm, played today with latest agricraft with my own modpack and don't have problem with cropsticks, so it look like there is conflict with other mod

I have no idea how to even begin figuring out what mod....

For lot of mods you can try method 50-50:
Try remove half of mods
if problem persist, priblematic mod is this half, so again remoce half of them, and repeat
If priblem dissapeared, problematic mod is in second half, so you continue with rhis set
And repeat until you found him...

I found the problem.

EDIT: This doesnt work if you copy your folder over to the FTB launcher. It has to be launched from multimc it seems like.... i booted up the world on the FTB launcher and i could not place crop sticks, and the ones that were already placed said "agricraft error" in TheOneProbe little visual thing. :/

The issue wasn't another mod causing conflict. The first thing i did was remove everything besides agricraft, mystical agriculture, and their dependencies. It didn't work. Next thing I tried was just adding agricraft and infinitylib to my vanilla minecraft launcher (only have forge for inventory and mouse tweaks) and it still didn't work. So I concluded there was not a mod conflict. Which meant is must be something else, and a clean folder wasn't the problem, as i had already tested that. I decided to rebuild the modpack and double check that everything was the correct version. Every mod was fine, but I couldn't figure out how to reinstall a different version of forge. I googled it for some help, ended up using MultiMC to copy the mod folder over, and install the latest recommended version of forge. I booted it up and behold, crop sticks are now placeable. Hallelujah.

Long story short, the version of forge is the problem. I forget the minimum version agricraft said it wanted, but the only one that seems to work with it (that ive tested) is v14.23.3.2655 THE LAST 4 NUMBERS ARE THE IMPORTANT ONES. There was NO mod conflict, it was the thing in charge of handling the mods that was the problem. Use MultiMC to fix the problem. Here's a few threads I found on it.

Anyways, thats the fix, thanks to those of you who contributed to helping out and those who suggested solutions of any kind.

Good to know, might want that on the CurseForge page, so people can use that version of Forge and get the least amount of errors/bugs/etc.

Thats smart. Ill probably try this and come back with my findings, if any. This is gonna take a while :P

So it looks like the version of forge that AgriCraft requires needs to be increased then? I guess the latest releases did start using much newer mappings, but we've always stayed with the recommended versions of forge for the most part.

I'm gonna contribute to this thread experiencing the same symptoms on forge build 2717.
An exception occurs in a scheduled task, which is usually ignored by Minecraft - however, VanillaFix logs a full crash report, which can be found here.

It looks like you've accidentally imported jline2's old jline.internal.Preconditions class, rather than the correct Guava com.google.common.base.Preconditions class. The JLine class no longer exists (not least because JLine's package is now org.jline) and so this class no longer exists, the classloader throws an error, and crop sticks don't work.

The REAL question is why upgrading forge fixed it for some users. I suspect something else changed, but this seems to be the root of the issue nonetheless. JLine was updated in Forge build 1.12.2-14.23.4.2715, so I'm not sure how Zuthal got the same error on FTB Revelations 1.8 (which is on build 2627)

I am going to assume that this was fixed with the latest release.
