This has resulted in a permanent softlock.

This softlock is a result of HEI, another alternative to JEI, storing text in the search bar between logins. I searched for "Light", while in creative shortly before this, and saw an error in chat rendering an item. I thought nothing of it, and searched light shortly after exiting creative in the HEI search bar, and i instantly crashed.

Now every time I open my inventory, I crash, cuz it saves the text and searches "Light" again.. :)

I literally can't play on my friend's server now. This isn't like a singleplayer thing where I can just start over, I'm completely fucked out of playing with my friends. Because of a rendering issue.

update: i'm unsure of the exact reasoning but rebooting minecraft the day after this seems to have resolved it for the moment?

my current theory is it may have been related to switching shaders off during the session in question before searching for the word "light".

despite it still having "li" in the search bar, it was seemingly fine to open my inventory.

i am unsure if this is the cause but it's my only working theory at the moment. something definitely went wrong somewhere regardless.
