I looked up on the discord which site of the nuclear furnace inserts into what slot. I then build a small automated system for it. However I noticed, that if one slot is at 64 items, it will still insert the items from a hopper, however into a wrong slot. This for example causes the uranium fuel rods to be inserted into the iron barrel slot for waste. It inserts the rods in the correct slot when the slot isn't full.
