Minecraft 1.18.2 Alex's Mobs 1.18.6

Using openloader to inject en_us with custom descriptions for Just Enough Effect Descriptions, and I can only add ones for missing effects (like earthquake). Attempting to overwrite existing ones (such as ender flu, making it shorter to fit on one jei page) doesn't do anything. I can't even find where they are written in the mod, they aren't in the original lang file. json in qestion.
