Alex's mobs on 1.20.1 is causing vanilla animals to either not spawn at all or be incredibly rare, took me 3 hours of exploring to find ONE cow in a village, did not see any chickens, sheep, parrots or cats etc. Basically any vanilla farm animal or animal in general. Animals came back after disabling the mod
