So elephants have been a bit iffy for me from the start. In my first encounter with taming them, I got the achievement for taming it but the animal wasn't actually tamed. I could put a chest and carpet on it, but couldn't direct it while riding. When I restarted it tossed off the chest and everything inside it and had to be fed another blossom before it worked.

Now I've got two elephants and bred them, which took...a lot of blossoms to do. It took almost thirty blossoms between the two of them to get them to reproduce, and then the calf was born, happy day!

Well, now the calf is grown up and...won't let me ride it or put a chest on it. It's basically acting like a wild elephant even though I bred two tamed elephants.

Make sure to separate it from its parents. Absolutely no contact. You won the custody fair and square. If the elephants dont leave consider using a restraining order and/or lethal weapon.
