Sometimes the mod uses all 8 of the streamed sound slots, and music discs don't play when you insert them.
This probably applies to the regular game music as well.

Unfortunately there is nothing I can do. You can set the volume of certain sounds to zero to disable using the command /cmdclientconfig.
