Ambient sounds not working in custom WorldPainter maps for some reason

Hello!
I'm reaching out regarding an issue I'm experiencing with the Ambient Sounds mod on Minecraft version 1.21.7.
I've installed Ambient Sounds, and everything works as expected when I play on a normal, vanilla-generated world, ambient sounds like birds, wind, etc., all function correctly and change with the time of day and biome.
However, when I load into a custom map created with WorldPainter, the ambient audio seems limited. Regardless of the time of day or where I explore, the only sound I consistently hear is crickets. Sounds like birds or forest ambience are completely absent (rain sounds work for some reason though). Also, in WorldPainter, the normal vanilla world generates past the custom hand-made world and the mod sounds in that vanilla generated part of the world also work perfectly fine, only in the artificially made part of the map the sounds seem to not work properly.
Essentially:
The issue appears only with WorldPainter generated maps.
I’ve verified that the problem does not occur in standard vanilla worlds.
I suspect it may have something to do with how biomes are assigned in the WorldPainter export, though in-game, the F3 biome info seems to report expected values (e.g., plains, forest, taiga).
The mod is loaded correctly, and no crashes or log errors are present.
I’m wondering if there’s anything specific Ambient Sounds depends on (e.g., certain biome data tags or world gen markers) that may be missing or incorrectly interpreted in WorldPainter maps.
Any guidance, suggestions, or insight you can offer would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your work on this immersive mod.
Best regards!
