Hi, First I'd like to say what I huge fan I am of the mod, and that I'm glad it's made it's due upgrade to 1.7.10.

Now, I have a simple request for the next update, and I really hope what I'm asking for isn't too much. you see I like making adventure maps for me and my friends to go through, and one of the things that we loved in the older version of the mod were the items that would spawn a structure immediately.

Now, while I'm not asking for a item for each and every template I have scanned, I just want a version of the creative structure builder that while you're in creative or while OPed it allows you to select the structure, and when in survival, you're only allowed to place it and then the item disappears. This way I could reward players searching the harsh landscapes with an instant resting place, that they can spawn in the middle of the adventure map, or perhaps, it would all be a trick, the house they spawned is actually a miniature prison.

Anywho, Really hope this isn't asking for much, and I'd like to say again that this mod really is one of a kind.

This already exists.

Flag a structure for 'survival' mode, and an item will be available in the structures creative tabs that will build that structure (still needs workers).

You seem to misinterpret what I mean, I would like an item that would spawn the structure immediately as opposed to something that would take a long time to build.

Hmm.. I will look into it.

IIRC there were some issues last time I was thinking about allowing instant construction in survival mode. (tick lag from generation, entities in the construction area, overwriting existing blocks)

I'll look into these and see if there is a simple solution / they are still a problem. If no problems are found I can likely just put a decrement-on-use code in the existing instant builder when the player is not in creative mode (the selection GUI is already locked when in survival mode, so you would need to select the structure first, and could then give it to a player).

What's the difference between the instant building in survival, and the instant building in creative? If you don't mind my asking that is.

Basically the difference -is- creative mode; by being in creative mode you are accepting cheating. Free blocks, no block drops, changing the world without consequences.

Survival mode is a bit different. People expect blocks that are broken to drop their drops, and the structure system does not do that, it merely replaces blocks. And there is no way to use the instant builder on a pre-cleared area (you need at least one block to click on to start the build, which will itself be replaced).

Additionally if there are entities in the area, they will be killed/suffocated as the structure is placed around them. In creative mode..who cares? But in survival mode.. one wrong click with the structure builder and all of a sudden your farm full of cows is now a solid block of structure, and all of your cows are dead/dying.

Going further, if I 'fix' the block-drops problem, it merely allows users to cheat/make cheap quarries by building a template to replace the area to be quarried (the template could even be filled with air...). This is not the intended purpose of the structure system.

Hmm...so... thinking further on it, I'm going to go back to my original response of: No. I cannot see any (reasonably implementable) solutions to some of those problems. There is a reason I have the existing survival-mode builders build over time. And apparently it will be staying that way.

I -have- however enabled the 'decrement in survival' mode bit on the creative mode structure builder, and ensured that the GUI is locked when in survival mode. So you could potentially use these items if you -really - want that functionality; just keep in mind it is not officially supported... any cheating/exploitable issues regarding it are not anything I will be looking into or trying to solve.

Thank you very much, I'm sure with that little edit you made I can make it work out, and I see what you mean by that, and I'm really sorry on my part for not being clear on what I was talking about. I had meant the creative structure builder not the survival structure builder as I'd still need them to be able to build their normally produced structures at the proper in-game pace should they decide to lay about lazily in the adventure map and try to make a base of sorts.
