On par with the newly introduced scaffolding in Minecraft 1.14, might I suggest Betweenland equivalents of scaffolding constructed from either nibbletwigs or weedwood sticks and rope.
They would function near identically to the vanilla scaffolding.
Additionally, nibbletwig scaffolding (unlike standard cheap weedwood scaffolding) could be upgraded using caving ropes and moss, this would allow the scaffolding to be lit up and emit light using bulbcaps, and could even (optionally given you have rope on hand) ensure the players safety by securing them to a rope, so that if they ever fell off the scaffolding they would be caught and just hang, awkwardly but safe nonetheless.
The moss used to upgrade the scaffolding would function as a support binding upgrade, which would allow extending the reach of horizontal nibbletwig scaffolding blocks further than the standard 4 blocks, likely extending it to 6 or 8 blocks outwards.
