Instead of the other way around. Having the half hunger on the left is annoying and weird, and there wasn't anything in the config that I could see?

I think they mean they want the 'half' hunger/saturation icons to be on the right side. Currently it looks like this:

I think they want it to look like this:

If we implement it as an option, it would need to be done using flipping of the existing icons (or possibly flipping the entire row of icons at once). Having to add separate 'left-to-right'-style icons would make this option not worth it in my opinion.
