The current 1.12.2 version of the wiki has no information about patterns, processing patterns, pattern encoders or the pattern terminal.

without the information about how to create a processing pattern the mod feels broken when it comes to automation because the pattern encoder doesn't support creating processing patterns.

This is something you learn about by either watching way too many videos or by happening to craft the me pattern terminal and discovering it has the toggle switch for making processing patterns.
