So back in 1.7.10 and 1.12.2, there was an addon mod called AE2 Stuff that added a Network Visualization Tool as well a standalone mod by Brandon3055.

This tool put an overlay on your whole network showing you where everything is through blocks and letting you know where channels are being used. There are images on the curse page below of how it worked. Would be really cool to see implemented in the base mod as neither of these have been ported past 1.12.
