Describe the feature

While the memory card is good for assigning data to placed devices, it would be nice if holding it in the offhand did this automatically when placing down new devices. This behavior is used by the Color Applicator already and it's very nice.

Reasons why it should be considered

Saves time, avoids needless clicking.
