[CRASH] There was a critical exception handling a packet on channel arms-ws

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the crash:
- Launch 1.12.2 Forge
- Try to join server (Magma)
- Screen briefly shows up
- Error message "Connection Lost. A fatal error has occurred, this connection is terminated'

Additional context
Once you rejoin the server, it won't happen again for a while.
This also happened on our server.
Seems like it has something to do with the multiverse.
It usually happens when the player tries to load skins as well as open wardrobe GUI(If there are skins in it).
If you are lucky enough, the skin loaded successfully before you get kicked out of the server, it won't happen... at least for a while. Not until the player tries to load the next skin.
