Because keeping a copy of every item around for using as a target with the Synthesis Table might be cumbersome, players should have the ability to create alchemical formulae to use instead. These can be stored in alchemy journals, which when set to an item, act as that item is the Synthesis Table's target slot. Formulae can also be used on their own.
