Whenever you go to craft, especially a vanilla recipe in 1.20.1, the recipe never consumes the items. It just crafts the item.

Could it also be possible where I am modifying the existing crafting table? The two GUIs could be conflicting with eachother?

I cannot reproduce your issue exactly, sorry.
Can you upload your artis-recrafted.json5 and write a short step-by-step list, please?
It also may be another Sinytra Connector specific bug.
