either update the mod. or change the licence and let the community take it from here.

Astral is a amazing mod. many people would love to play it (I wanna mix it with hexcasting, and with team CoFH updating thaum I would love to see it updated). but since this mod hasn't been touched in 2 years. best option (from my pov) is to re-licence to a more permissive licence
