It appears that the pickaxe is still considered a pickaxe when mining blocks such as a wood log. This causes mod interaction issues when a mod is looking for the tool to be an axe for logs.

That's because it doesn't actually change the tool type. A pickaxe is never not a pickaxe, it just mines like it should be able to break that block on a harvest check looking for an axe or shovel.

Closing, as perk system overhauled for AS 1.10.x, and it was never not working as intended to begin with.
