there was another person with this problem, but turning swamp colors on and off didn't help me. i can't uninstall optifine because i need it in my world for CITs to work. i don't understand what optifine is doing to cause this problem.

Unfortunately we can't fix bugs with optifine - its closed source and frequently incompatible with mods.
