Support for 1.12.1 Fabric doesn't work

Minecraft 1.12.1? Fabric Loader 1.12.1? You're not very specific, please provide logs.
1.20.1, it says wrong version is present, and that 1.20.2 is the required version
Mod 'BadOptimizations' (badoptimizations) 1.1.0 requires version 1.20.2 or later of 'Minecraft' (minecraft), but only the wrong version is present: 1.20.1!
This is not an issue, you downloaded the wrong version. Download the 1.20.1 jar.
I see. Not saying wrong, but that's a bit special way to organize files (the only case out of 300+ mods I recently downloaded). Also the featured versions section allows users to directly download the files, so there's a reason an amount of people would encounter this.
