Hi,

please add the feature to place a specific block on top of all other blocks within a defined area around the player.

For example 200 Blocks around the player in all directions.
It seems that you can to that in WorldEdit by using the [type=top] command.
E.g. //set minecraft:dirt[type=top]

Alternatively we could use the existing "sel pos1" and "sel pos2" to define the area.
