Why is Baritone's maven group 'baritone' instead of 'cabaletta.baritone'

What do you need help with?

A lot of tools, like MultiMC, and Maven, and many IDEs, work under the assumption that the maven group, or base package of a Java project will be in the form tld.name.project. For example, in my case it'd be me.chexo3.quitbutton, for my beta 1.7.3 quit button mod I made in cursed-fabric. I've already encountered issues with the weird project structure, for example MultiMC expects patches to be x.y.json and this breaks that assumption.

You can see in the .json for Impact or Baritone that the full maven name is cabaletta:baritone-api:1.2.14. That seems perfectly reasonable to me.
