What happened?

Any time a player enters the End, the server crashes. Reloading, there's a coin flip whether or not they'll be in the end, or the server will be pushed back by about 5 minutes.
If I manage to get into the end, the server will crash once I try travelling to the Outer Islands, unless I teleport 200 blocks at a time, spending about 5 minutes waiting between each jump.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or will I have to lock off the end until it's fixed?
