There is an ingame mod configuration menu under "Mod options" in 1.12.2 mod version. There isn't such menu in 1.16.x mod version. Can you implement this in new versions of Minecraft?

The config screen can be enabled for any mod with Configured mod

All options are in the mod, but currently Forge doesn't natively support it. Other mods can be used to enable it.

This used to be a Forge thing, but is not yet implemented from their end if I recall correct. Will see if there is something I did wrong.
