I have no idea if BetterFoliage, Optifine, or DynamicTrees is actually at fault here, but if I disable BetterFoliage or disable "Use VBOs" in the Optifine settings, the problem stops. Disabling VBOs causes massive lag spikes and makes the game unplayable, so that's not an option. I really love this mod and have been trying to just deal with it because I really don't want to turn it off, but the issue is getting worse and worse so I'm gonna have to stop using BetterFoliage for now =(

Don't if you still have this problem, I just got this bug too after install the mod. Can only make sure this is not the problem of any other mod.

Seconding this. Without using DynamicTrees , error should be in BetterFoliage or Optifine, I notice 1281 error frequently appear when in ocean floor.
