[Suggestion]: Trident projectiles use handheld model

Lately I've been making some texture packs for tridents that use name variants (itemstates) to change the handheld model of the trident, in doing so, I found that the trident projectile sticks out like a sore thumb when things like the mentioned pack are installed.
The suggestion: make trident projectile render the handheld model of the trident that is in use, without interfering too much with itemstates to allow for skins on tridents (or just a model change) to render as the thrown projectile.
I hope this isn't too big of an ask.
