Can be used to add custom titles, not only for flair, but also to work with something like Nostalgic Tweaks, which has a customizable version overlay that only affects the Alpha and Beta debug screens provided by NT. Would be great for golden age inspired modpacks that would prefer to use BetterF3. Generally, modpacks can also substitute the Minecraft version name with the pack name and version
